FXC™ STEEL CORD BELT FASTENING Applications

Emergency Splice

The FXC™ can be installed quickly when there is a splice failure or significant belt damage so the operation can get back up and running until a vulcanized splice is installed. This installation takes approximately five hours with four workers on a 72 in. (1800mm) wide belt.

Belt Pull

The FXC™ can be used to pull a belt onto the conveyor system quickly and efficiently. Belt pull kits use the same components as an emergency splice but quantities may be reduced depending on belt pull tension requirements. This installation takes approximately three hours with four workers on a 72 in. (1800mm) wide belt.

Steel Cord Belt "ST" Rating Cord Diameter Range Cord Pitch Range Minimum Belt Thickness Splice Thickness Hinge Pin Diameter

Splices must be covered with a self-leveling liquid urethane to prevent sifting when running material. Cover material available from Flexco upon request.

*Emergency Splice Note: For belts thinner than the splice, grade the cover material for a smooth transition from belt to splice. Reduce cleaner tension/drop the cleaner in cases where the belt thickness exceeds the splice thickness in Column E.
**Belt Pull Note: This splice does not require covering and should not be conveying material. Therefore belt thickness is not a restriction.
***Cord pitch greater than 20mm or cord diameter greater than 6.8mm requires 31.4mm splice thickness.
