Problem:
A well-known manufacturer of conveyor equipment in Europe was having a difficult time using their endless splicing equipment in a cold storage facility because the water used to cool the press was continually freezing due to temperatures of -13 degrees Fahrenheit (-25 degrees Celsius).
Solution:
The use of antifreeze was discouraged because the client is storing fruits and vegetables, so the maintenance team had to find a solution. A demonstration of the Novitool® Aero® Splice Press seemed to be the answer because of the air-cooled technology, but they were skeptical because they did not believe it would work as well as the water-cooled press.
Result:
After successful testing in the cold storage facility, they were impressed by the performance and finished splice quality of the Aero Press. With the Aero, the customer did not have to utilize anti-freeze and they could also rest assured that the process was much more sanitary without water involved. They now meet the standards set forth by their local regulatory agency.
